About the role
- Develop and execute a clear strategy for acquiring, enabling, and scaling partnerships with accounting, tax, and advisory firms
- Define partner segmentation (e.g., startup-focused firms, regional CPA firms, boutique advisory practices) and ideal partner profiles
- Design referral, revenue-share, and co-marketing models tailored to accounting partners
- Partner Development & Relationship Management
- Identify and build relationships with partners, principals, and firm leadership
- Serve as a trusted partner to accounting firms, positioning SimpleClosure as an extension of their client service offering
- Act as the primary point of contact for accounting partners, proactively addressing needs and resolving issues
- Drive qualified customer referrals through accounting firm partnerships
- Collaborate with Sales to ensure smooth handoffs, clear attribution, and strong feedback loops
- Structure, negotiate, and close partnership agreements that align incentives and drive long-term value
- Partner with Product, Legal, and Engineering teams to improve shutdown workflows, financial reporting, and compliance support
- Work with Marketing to develop partner enablement materials, co-branded content, and training resources for accountants
- Provide feedback from accounting partners to inform product, pricing, and GTM strategy
- Build onboarding, education, and enablement programs for accounting partners
- Track partnership performance, pipeline contribution, and ROI
- Iterate on the partnership model to drive scale, efficiency, and repeatability
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or channel sales, ideally working with accounting firms, CPA practices, or professional services organizations
- Strong understanding of how accounting firms operate, including partner economics, client workflows, and tax/compliance considerations
- Proven experience structuring and closing partnership agreements that drive revenue
- Excellent relationship-building and executive communication skills
- Strategic thinker with a bias toward execution and measurable outcomes
- Experience in B2B SaaS, FinTech, LegalTech, or adjacent industries
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building partnership programs from the ground up
- Willingness to travel occasionally for partner meetings and industry events
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on mutual value creation
