About the role
- Design secure, scalable digital solutions on the Scottish Government Cloud Platform
- Work as part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for design, delivery, and improvement of the cloud platform service
- Collaborate with customers to support design and delivery of modern solutions onto the service
- Capture, document and agree solution requirements early in delivery process with focus on security and cost effectiveness
- Translate requirements into architectural designs
- Collaborate with stakeholders across security, service, and engineering teams for feedback and alignment to standards
- Develop, document, present and support architectural decisions at governance forums
- Identify, document, and communicate risks at all stages of solution development
- Define and contribute to roadmaps and strategies
- Assess emerging technologies and evaluate project success to derive lessons learned
Requirements
- Experience designing complex technology solutions
- Leadership in solution and service governance
- Collaboration with security, operational and service teams on service design, governance, and operation
- Ability to capture, document and agree solution requirements focusing on security and cost effectiveness
- Translate requirements into modern, secure, cost-effective architectural designs
- Develop, document, present and support architectural decisions at governance forums
- Identify, document, and communicate risks throughout solution development
- Define and contribute to road maps and strategies in areas of expertise
- Assess emerging technologies and approaches
- Evaluate project success and identify lessons learned
- Ability to provide CV and Supporting Statement (max 750 words) addressing 3 Experience criteria
- Must complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks (Identity, Right to work, Employment History, Criminal Record check)

- Technical skills aligned to Solution Architect (DDaT Role Level – Senior Solution Architect); technical assessment required
