Stand navigational watches to ensure safe and efficient navigation of the vessel during operational testing
Safely navigate the vessel to and from operation testing sites
Operate alongside autonomous systems and monitor their performance during missions
Contribute to overall vessel operations as directed by the Captain
Assist in the shipboard execution of mission objectives and mission testing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cutting-edge autonomous systems operations
Adhere to maritime regulations and safety standards
Perform physically demanding tasks on deck and operate in varied marine environments
Requirements
U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or protected asylee/refugee per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
Valid U.S. Coast Guard license (Minimum National 500/1600T Mate Upon Oceans; Unlimited Mate’s License desired)
STCW Basic Training
GMDSS Operator
OICNW
FCC License
Valid TWIC
USCG STCW Medical Certificate
Valid passport
Proficiency in maritime navigation systems
Ability to stand a 12 hour navigational watch
Must pass background check and USCG/DOT drug testing
Security clearance eligibility preferred
Ability to work both independently and as part of a group
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work up to 50% travel; projected rotation 28/28
Ability to certify as “fit for work” by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water
Frequently lift, push and carry up to 75 lbs and carry 20 lbs up and down stairs
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods (up to 12 hours/day)
Desired: Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies or similar field
Desired: Familiarity/experience with maneuvering characteristics of jet-drive propelled vessels
Desired: Experience with autonomous or unmanned systems
Desired: Prior experience working with the DoD or other government agencies
