💰 $129,200 - $174,800 per year
About the role
- Grow and maintain a technical team of Materials, Process, & Physics (MP&P) engineers, Structural Design Engineers, Technical Analysts, and a composite material and fabrication development lab
- Execute Research and Development on next-generation thermoset composites and mature applications with design and manufacturing demonstrators
- Coordinate execution of internally and externally funded R&D projects and program support assignments
- Develop and maintain relationships with BDS Phantom Works and other Boeing programs and stakeholders
- Identify technology gaps and develop team and project plans to address gaps
- Work with senior leaders to develop long range technology plans and technology development roadmaps
- Grow capabilities in higher temperature polymer matrix composites
- Work with suppliers to develop the next generation of composite materials, adhesives, cores, etc.
- CRAD program shaping, winning, and execution with USG partners
- Interface with external stakeholders including material suppliers and DoD customers
- Oversee composite material development, qualification, and application to aerospace programs
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience in leading research programs
- Experience leading technical teams
- Advanced Engineering degree (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (preferred)
- Technical background in aerospace composite material development, qualification, and application (preferred)
- Experience with Boeing material and fabrication specifications and associated systems (preferred)
- Experience with advanced composite structural design and analysis methods (preferred)
- Experience developing relationships with material suppliers (preferred)
- CRAD program development and capture experience (preferred)
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)
- U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
