About the role

  • Own the strategic vision for our People function at Sana, leading a critical aspect of Sana’s business and working cross-functionally to maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Lead and build over time a lean, high-performing People team; develop and foster plans for team members’ career growth through regular coaching, 1:1s, feedback sessions, and Q&A.
  • Talent Acquisition: attract and recruit top talent and own/expand employer brand in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Talent Development: build and maintain clear, scalable career pathways and leveling frameworks; equip managers with tools and training to support career development.
  • Performance Management: champion company performance philosophy; guide leaders on organizational design, professional development, leadership best practices, engagement, retention, performance measurement, and succession planning.
  • People Operations: manage and optimize people systems, processes, and policies; serve as center of excellence for the employee lifecycle and internal communications.
  • Compensation & Benefits: build and refine a transparent total compensation program informed by benchmarking, tailored to remote culture, competitive within the market, and aligned to budgets.
  • People Data Insights: identify, track, and report on KPIs for recruiting, retention, DEIB, compensation, performance, engagement, and other critical metrics.
  • AI-Forward Culture: support company-wide shift toward AI-enabled ways of working by fostering curiosity, providing training/resources, and embedding responsible AI practices.
  • Champion the employee experience by creating meaningful opportunities for connection and belonging, organizing team gatherings, company retreats, and cultural initiatives.
  • Work closely with Finance on compensation planning, performance cycles, equity management, payroll, benefits planning, budgeting, IT procurement, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the People team while assisting with resolution of HR, compensation, and benefits questions and issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably with 3+ years in a fast-growth company environment in the health, wellness, and/or benefits space at a leadership level.
  • An inspirational leader and excellent people manager with a passion for team-building. You know how to identify, recruit, and maximize your team’s talent. People love working with and for you.
  • Working knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, and how to practically apply them in the workplace.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to look at key performance metrics and employee/benefits data regularly to find trends, drill down into cases as needed, and take data-informed action. Experience using business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Direct experience scaling organizations efficiently and effectively, with the ability to anticipate and proactively support various people-related challenges.
  • Outstanding emotional intelligence and communication skills over Zoom, cell, email, chat, carrier pigeon, etc.
  • Unparalleled attention to detail. You love getting into the weeds to get things done.
