• Manage and develop a team of Claims and Appeals Processors, providing training, feedback, and performance management to ensure SLA and quality targets are consistently met
• Own end-to-end claims operations, including adjudication, appeals, QA, IDR negotiations, and compliance with plan policies and regulatory requirements
• Develop and strengthen scalable processes by documenting SOPs, identifying workflow improvements, and leading automation or tooling initiatives that reduce friction and improve accuracy
• Manage customer support and provider escalations, partnering closely with CX, Network Operations, Sales, and Broker teams to resolve issues efficiently and represent Claims Operations with professionalism and clarity
• Oversee rule-based payment logic, collaborating with Product and Engineering to maintain and enhance our claims rules engine and operational systems (Jira, internal platforms, reporting tools, etc.)
• Build and maintain plan document infrastructure ensuring operational accuracy, alignment with claims logic and network rules, and regulatory compliance
• Serve as claims subject-matter expert for internal teams, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely support for Stop Loss reporting and required documentation.
• Develop KPIs and reporting dashboards to monitor performance, uncover trends, and drive continuous operational improvement
• Partner on payment integrity and cost containment programs, leveraging data and vendor partnerships to reduce waste, ensure appropriate reimbursement, and protect plan assets
• Drive cross-functional projects, coordinating requirements, timelines, and stakeholders for system changes, rule updates, plan documents, and process improvements

You might pivot between product areas over time — for example, leading core improvements for brokers before turning to internal tools for clinicians. This is a high-trust environment with strong systems for collaboration, giving you both autonomy and guidance to move quickly and deliver meaningful impact.
• Own metrics and iteration. Establish baselines, track engagement and adoption, and use insights to recommend next experiments.
• Stay close to users and teammates. Shadow internal teams and meet directly with members, admins, and brokers to uncover needs, validate ideas, and refine solutions. Leverage quantitative and qualitative data and all feedback available.
• Use AI as a thinking partner. You get creative with prompts to bring the best out of tools—prototyping and validating ideas quickly to build shared understanding. You use AI to visualize and communicate concepts clearly, focusing on intent and user value to align teams efficiently.
• Create clarity and alignment. Frame problems with data, articulate tradeoffs, and make scope visible so collaborators understand the “why,” not just the “what.” Keep teams anchored on value, spot scope creep early, and facilitate crisp pre-reads and decision reviews that close loops quickly. Translate that clarity into action by owning prioritization, ticket creation, and sprint planning. Ensure design and engineering have full context, well-defined requirements, and ROI guardrails so every cycle moves the product meaningfully forward.
• Prepare for launch and adoption. Lead internal demos, training, and documentation so stakeholders and Product Marketing are ready for go-to-market.

• Build products that will help guide members through an evolving and complicated healthcare system
• Integrate data from claims, eligibility, and healthcare partners to deliver a seamless member experience

• Own the strategic vision for our People function at Sana, leading a critical aspect of Sana’s business and working cross-functionally to maintain a high-performance culture.
• Lead and build over time a lean, high-performing People team; develop and foster plans for team members’ career growth through regular coaching, 1:1s, feedback sessions, and Q&A.
• Talent Acquisition: attract and recruit top talent and own/expand employer brand in collaboration with Marketing.
• Talent Development: build and maintain clear, scalable career pathways and leveling frameworks; equip managers with tools and training to support career development.
• Performance Management: champion company performance philosophy; guide leaders on organizational design, professional development, leadership best practices, engagement, retention, performance measurement, and succession planning.
• People Operations: manage and optimize people systems, processes, and policies; serve as center of excellence for the employee lifecycle and internal communications.
• Compensation & Benefits: build and refine a transparent total compensation program informed by benchmarking, tailored to remote culture, competitive within the market, and aligned to budgets.
• People Data Insights: identify, track, and report on KPIs for recruiting, retention, DEIB, compensation, performance, engagement, and other critical metrics.
• AI-Forward Culture: support company-wide shift toward AI-enabled ways of working by fostering curiosity, providing training/resources, and embedding responsible AI practices.
