About the role

  • Achieve organizational goals by effectively leading, coaching, and managing the accounting team.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, pay reviews, and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Apply operational and strategic management skills to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes.
  • Assess, establish, and maintain procedures and processes for all areas of accounting.
  • Oversee and manage various accounting functions, including, but not limited to software capitalization, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Maintain, review, and track billing details within financial systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
  • Document and oversee internal controls across the Accounting Organization.
  • Interpret records and reports for managers and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Gather and analyze financial information and help manage the monthly closing process.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Work on Ad-Hoc projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for research on technical accounting matters as these arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or relevant discipline with 4 - 6 years of experience in a related field, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within a SaaS or financial technology company. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • CPA Required
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Public Accounting Experience (Big 4) preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 is a plus
  • Proven ability to achieve goals through the work of others, with a focus on managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong operational and strategic management skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
