About the role
- Lead a team of approximately 15 primary analysts and support analysts focused on the Corporate Ratings sector.
- Cultivate a strong talent development culture prioritizing analytical excellence, service quality, and operational effectiveness.
- Deliver insightful, forward-looking analyses and thought leadership to maintain best-in-class ratings performance.
- Serve as a key contact for issuers, investors, and intermediaries while adhering to established policies.
- Oversee the credit ratings process, ensuring high-quality analytics and optimal resource allocation.
- Promote a positive compliance culture and lead by example within the team.
- Foster a culture of service excellence and encourage technological awareness and innovation.
- Develop analysts through employee engagement, career development support, and training aligned with talent strategy.
- Partner with Lead Analysts and Sector Leads to coordinate market outreach initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.
- Report to the Head of Americas Corporate Ratings and collaborate with Analytical Managers, the Chief Analytical Officer, and the Methodologies Sector Head.
- Contribute to recruiting, talent retention, and the organization’s learning objectives.
Requirements
- Proven leadership with a track record of analytical excellence, independence, and objectivity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a related asset class, with prior experience in Corporate Ratings.
- Ability to manage complex situations, innovate, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Deep understanding of debt markets and strong knowledge of S&P Global Ratings methodologies.
- Relevant industry expertise is advantageous.
- Strong client and market knowledge.
- Capability to attract, motivate, and lead a team of analysts collaboratively.
- Leadership skills with change management aptitude.
- Strong operational management, influencing, and communication skills.
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work globally in a collaborative and multicultural environment.
- Independent, critical thinker with a focus on innovation opportunities.
- Preferred Qualifications: MBA or CFA.
- Right to Work Requirements: role is limited to persons with an indefinite right to work in the United States.
- Hybrid Work Requirements: All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
