Perform ESA services primarily for external suppliers located both domestically and internationally
Assess melting/billet conversion practices and, to a lesser extent, part forging processes for compliance to product definition data and engineering design intent
Define approval plans and disposition requests for initial approvals, changes and inadvertent variations
Perform on-site witnessing of processes
Review processing documentation and process simulations
Analyze mechanical test data and metallurgical findings
Use statistical tools to determine process capability
Travel periodically to supplier sites as required
Requirements
BS in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and minimum 8 years experience
An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Security Clearance: None/Not Required
This position will require periodic travel
Experience with melting and conversion methods (preferred)
Knowledge of large structural forgings and/or rolled ring forgings (preferred)
Knowledge of associated shop practices, alloy working methods and tooling (preferred)
