About the role
- Establish and implement a monthly and weekly cadence across STARS for inputs, reviews and on-time delivery to RFS FP&A
- Accurate and timely analysis of financial performance (bookings, sales, profit, and cash) and early identification and communication of issues
- Own all financial reports, presentations and FP&A deliverables with focus on data integrity, completeness, analysis and timeliness
- Establish and enforce the schedule for long range planning (LRP) activities; own all STARS LRP deliverables
- Perform element of cost analysis
- Lead the STARS SRO process to achieve consistency, timeliness and accuracy
- Actively participate in weekly/monthly forecast, business and cash call reviews with RFS FP&A
- Understand all elements of the balance sheet; identify issues and drive resolution
- Monitor and analyze STARS investments: capital projects, overhead spending, IRAD projects and NBI spending
- Monitor spending/liquidation of Inventory ARs and CFRs
- Provide variance analysis and month/year-end close reporting and program financial forecasting
- Establish efficiencies through process improvement and FP&A best practices across STARS
- Manage 1 direct report; responsible for their performance and career development guidance
Requirements
- Typically requires A Bachelor’s degree; Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or Advanced Degree and minimum 5 years experience
- Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) concepts, related systems, and processes
- U.S. citizenship is required (only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system)
- Ability to be On-site employee in McKinney, Texas or Tucson, AZ
- Self-starter with demonstrated leadership and critical thinking skills
- Proactive guidance, sense of urgency, and ability to meet multiple commitments
- Creative problem solving and process improvement orientation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to package complex data for executive review
- Demonstrated ability to lead a small dispersed team and provide career development
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Budgeting and variance analysis skills
- Experience with long range planning (LRP), forecasting, and month/year-end close reporting
