About the role
- Perform RF/microwave/millimeter-wave measurements on GaAs and GaN devices, modules and MMICs
- Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements
- Assemble RF/microwave/millimeter-wave test systems
- Use software to control test equipment and plot test results
- Learn and apply RF/Microwave measurement techniques including wafer probing, fixtured devices, pulsed measurements
- Use test equipment such as PNAs, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, RSAs, Noise Figure Analyzers, Load-Pull systems
- Use software tools such as Labview, Python and Keysight ADS to control test equipment and manipulate test data
- Measurement trouble-shooting and collaboration with RF engineering test teams at AMSD
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
- Position is for an intern enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their sophomore year by the start of summer 2026
- Must be U.S. citizen (U.S. citizenship is required)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- Security Clearance: DoD Clearance: Secret

- Experience/coursework preferred in RF/microwave, Analog, Digital Electronics, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Electromagnetics
- Lab experience specific to RF/microwave device and circuit measurements (preferred)
- Knowledge of electrical circuit design, analysis and troubleshooting using common lab equipment (preferred)
- Experience with any of the following software: Python, Labview, Keysight ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Expedition, AutoCAD, TCAD, C++, Java, JMP (preferred)
