About the role
- Integration and verification of software for the M-code capable Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System (EGI-M)
- Conduct comprehensive verification of software requirements to ensure alignment with system specifications
- Design and develop detailed and robust test cases, test scripts, and test procedures to validate software functionality and performance
- Create and deliver clear, concise test procedures and ensure software test activities are executed accurately with conforming data
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data reduction scripts to enhance efficiency and streamline validation processes
- Work with various Agile teams to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Engineer, Integration & Test leads, and software development teams to maintain high standards and deliver reliable solutions
- Support test investigations, debugging efforts, and lab hardware-software integration
- Travel (~10%) to customer, supplier, and other Northrop Grumman locations as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or another STEM discipline with 9 years of experience in Software Integration & Test Engineering, or Master's degree with 7 years, or PhD with 4 years
- Proficiency with MathWorks development tools, including MATLAB and Simulink
- Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429 or RS-422
- Experience integrating hardware and software in a lab environment
- Skilled in writing both automated and manual test procedures to validate system functionality
- Extensive background in software integration and testing processes
- Experience supporting test investigations and debugging efforts
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA
- Minimum ~10% travel required
- Preferred: Strong hands-on experience with Ethernet protocols
- Preferred: Experience with GPS and Inertial navigation systems
- Preferred: Proficient in applying DO-178C safety-critical software verification processes
- Preferred: Well-versed in Agile methodologies and tools, with practical experience using JIRA
- Preferred: Skilled in utilizing IBM Rational DOORS for requirements management and traceability
- Preferred: Active DoD Secret Clearance
