About the role
- Lead and manage engineering projects focusing on scope, cost, schedule, and risk
- Manage the design and integration of complex assemblies according to Collins’s product development process
- Guide, mentor, and lead team members as directed by the Cost Account Manager (CAM)
- Perform Earned Value Reporting (SPI/CPI) and Cost Account Management duties as directed
- Develop basis of estimates (BOE) for proposals and negotiate with customers
- Provide design oversight for specifications, drawings, and test plans
- Perform system and component requirements reviews and compliance assessments
- Develop and manage project risk and mitigation plans
- Develop and deliver detailed presentations for product design reviews
- Support product verification, certification, and production incorporation
- Conduct Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action (RRCCA) investigations for field and production engine test component removals
- Coordinate Class I and Class II engineering changes via Collins and Pratt & Whitney Configuration Control Board processes
- Coordinate efforts with Category 1 supplier to support program/customer milestones and objectives
- Develop and present project status and closure plans to Collins, customer engineering, and program leadership
Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) (typically) or Advanced Degree in a related field
- Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience (or minimum 5 years with an Advanced Degree)
- U.S. citizenship is required (only U.S. citizens authorized to access information under this program/contract)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with Integrated Master Schedule/Project scheduling tools
- Familiarity with CORE tools/systems to support project management and collaboration (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated planning and execution skills; ability to multitask and meet challenging schedules
- Experience working within a highly matrixed organization and collaborating with suppliers and customers
- Ability to develop basis of estimates (BOE), negotiate with customers, and perform Earned Value Reporting (SPI/CPI)
- Experience with risk management, verification, certification, and configuration control processes
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct RRCCA investigations and coordinate engineering changes
