About the role
- Participate in design and development activities, including implementation of specifications and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
- Learn engineering design processes to contribute to designs for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- May perform analyses (thermal, structural, etc) to evaluate design function, cost effectiveness, and requirements adherence.
- Work with designers and drafters to create, modify, and release documentation such as part and assembly drawings.
- Participate in the execution of tests for systems, subsystems, and components.
- Participate in the analysis of test results in relation to design and test objectives.
- Evaluate installations and recommends design modifications.
- Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government is (note: original text truncated/duplicated).
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), particularly in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. (preferred)
- Possession of an active U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance. (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and make sound, well informed decisions. (preferred)
- Familiarity with computer aided design (CAD) modeling software, particularly Solidworks or similar. (preferred)
- Familiarity with analysis software, particularly ANSYS or similar. (preferred)
