About the role
- The BMS mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems
- Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment
- Deliver build to site twice a year
- Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline
- Align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers
- Participate as a Principal Software Development Engineer in the Battle Management Software (BMS) Department
- Work onsite in Fort Wayne, IN and be part of on-site team; potential travel to customer sites for installs and testing
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- A minimum of 8 years of prior relevant software development experience
- Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++ or Ada
- Experience with Script languages (C shell, Perl)
- Experience using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs, as well as optimize code for performance
- Active and transferrable final Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Prior experience on XBR, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, QEWR, UEWR, SRP or other current missile defense programs (preferred)
- Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps (preferred)
- Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket/Artifactory, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible (preferred)
- Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferred)
- Knowledge of Redhat and Linux Operating Systems (preferred)
- Potential to travel to customer site (up to 50%) for software build install and test (preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements (preferred)
- Ability to coach and delegate work to lower-level professionals (preferred)
