About the role
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment
- Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity including integration of hardware and operating systems
- Provide mentorship and guide prioritization of tasks to junior admins
- Experience in cross-team collaboration, and lead projects as directed
- Manage ESXi, VCenter and a functional understanding of VDI
- Perform data backup and restore, using industry best practice
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements
- Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours
- Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year
- Full time 100% Onsite position
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- Must be able to obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
- Experience with Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites
- Experience with ESXi, VCenter and functional understanding of VDI
- Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods
- Experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools
- Perform data backup and restore, using industry best practice
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Server, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup
- Experience with cloning techniques
- Use and guide use of automation tools e.g. Ansible
- Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support
- Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware
- Experience with an IT incident/service request system
