About the role
- Support drafting, negotiation, interpretation and management of proposal and contract documents for the Military Engines Organization
- Serve as primary focal point for external and internal customers regarding contract issues and contract requirements interpretation
- Provide contract leadership and expertise in developing innovative solutions to complex contracting issues
- Responsible for the contract from start to contract closeout
- Provide terms and conditions review and advice on contracting rights and obligations to mitigate contractual and programmatic risks
- Interact significantly with various managers within the organization and the United States Government
- Exercise discretion and work independently as well as provide team leadership
- Travel approximately 10%
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of contract management experience; OR an Advanced degree and 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of contract management experience
- US Citizenship required
- Strong customer interaction and negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret contract requirements and provide advice on contracting rights and obligations
- Experience with FAR and DFARs is strongly preferred
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment
- Experience providing contracting knowledge to program teams
- Familiarity with CORE process improvement tools
- Approximately 10% travel expected
