About the role
- Provide guidance and oversight into our supply base through a new center of excellence (COE) focused on First Article Inspection (FAI), submittal, and resubmittal process
- Manage a considerable volume of supplier FAI submittals to improve supplier first pass yield (FPY) using Net Inspect
- Perform on-site supplier engagements and supplier surveillance activities
- Interact daily with cross-business teams including technical support, manufacturing/test/design engineering, supply chain, maintenance, production control, and program management office
- Ensure compliance with industry and company policies and implement continuous improvement using CORE
- Drive closure of material on hold for missing FAI requirements and make quality-related decisions affecting program build time
- Travel domestically up to 25% of time
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in a STEM discipline and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience
- In absence of a degree, 9+ years of experience
- Experience with AS9100 and AS9102
- Experience with supplier engagements, FAI submittals, supplier surveillance, Final Source Inspections, Remote First Article Inspection, In-process inspections
- Knowledge of PRISM, Business Warehouse, RCAS (preferred)
- Competency in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
- Experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing processes
- Critical thinking skills
