About the role

  • Responsible for sales and marketing efforts to increase profitable sales by creating, building, and maintaining customer relationships
  • Utilize company digital tools and products/services to connect with customers and generate sales volume
  • Sell, market, promote, and demonstrate products and communicate product features and benefits
  • Generate new customer sales and sell additional products to existing customers
  • Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers to plan and implement sales strategies and develop new markets
  • Assist customers with product selection and application using internal specialists and supplier representatives
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships and evaluate customer operations to present tailored solutions
  • Provide quotations, communicate throughout purchasing lifecycle, and resolve payment issues with management and credit
  • Gather and report market, competitor, pricing, and product information
  • Participate in training, promotions, supplier seminars, and professional development to maintain product knowledge
  • Maintain accurate records including sales call schedules and expense reports
  • Coordinate vendor sales calls and champion digital customer solutions
  • Travel to offsite locations frequently; other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 3+ years of sales or electrical industry experience
  • Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers
  • Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence
  • Product and application knowledge essential
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office as well as relevant ERP systems and Customer Relation Management Tools (CRM)
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
