About the role
- Lead compliance audits and reporting (EEOC, ACA, I-9, etc.) to ensure adherence to federal/state regulations and internal policies
- Maintain and update company policies and employee handbooks in line with legal requirements
- Support and ensure accuracy of payroll processes, including during mergers and acquisitions
- Resolve multi-state payroll tax issues, perform audits, and manage responses to tax jurisdiction notices
- Perform QA checks, reconcile payroll data (Workday/ADP), and document procedures for accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with benefit brokers/vendors to evaluate and recommend competitive benefits programs
- Lead Open Enrollment planning, employee education, and ensure benefits data integrity across systems
- Serve as primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and coordinate resolution with vendors
- Conduct regular audits of benefits, payroll, and compliance data to ensure accuracy and system alignment
- Provide HRIS support during onboarding/offboarding, assist with system enhancements, and lead process automation
- Manage mid-to-high complexity Total Rewards projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Contribute to Total Rewards design by conducting market and vendor research
- Promote teamwork, professional communication, and continuous improvement across payroll, benefits, and compliance functions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5-7 years of related payroll or employee benefits administration
- 2-3 years of payroll tax experience preferred
- ADP and Workday experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and HRIS/benefits databases
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to Total Rewards
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Must reside within the United States (U.S.-based remote positions only)
