About the role
- Help patients check into the hospital and register at ED
- Answer questions during registration and build trust through compassionate listening
- Collect patient and insurance information accurately and quickly across multiple computer programs
- Work across multiple screens and type as quickly as patients speak
- Work around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care
- Ask follow-up questions and build rapport to ease patient anxiety
- Fast-paced work often on your feet assisting patients to complete registration
- Learn variations in health plans and coverage through training
- Collaborate with team members and support patient flow in the ED
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service experience
- Confident multi-tasker
- Quick study with technology
- Ability to type and answer phones
- Comfortable working in a hospital/lab environment and prepared to see illness and injuries
- Up to date on all vaccinations
- Must pass a drug test prior to hire
- Must pass a background check prior to hire
