Mechanical Engineer

• Design and release hardware from established requirements, including brackets, mounting interfaces, enclosures, and installation/routing solutions with attention to serviceability, sealing, vibration, and corrosion.
• Collaborate with field operations to support Smartmast deployments and troubleshoot mechanical integration challenges.
• Support cabling integration (Ethernet/PoE, coax/RF, power) by researching and sourcing components; define and validate routing/strain relief/termination standards and perform basic verification testing.
• Triage and resolve integration issues across engineering, manufacturing, and field operations by gathering evidence, identifying root cause, implementing fixes, and closing the loop with design/BOM/documentation updates.
• Support rapid prototyping R&D involving sensor integration and lightweight software design

Business Operations

• Help drive the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasting cycles, working with department heads to build bottoms-up financial plans aligned with strategic objectives.
• Prepare monthly variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) with actionable insights, root cause identification, and data-driven recommendations.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models connecting operational drivers to financial outcomes, enabling scenario analysis and strategic decisions.
• Own the financial close-to-reporting timeline, working closely with accounting to accelerate insights delivery.
• Partner with the Head of Operations to define, track, and analyze key operational metrics including hardware deployment costs, fulfillment logistics, installation efficiency, sensor network utilization, and customer acquisition costs.

• Develop expertise in hardware unit economics: COGS breakdown (sensor hardware, installation, satellite communication), contribution margins by product/customer segment, and cash conversion cycles.
• Conduct margin optimization analyses across the value chain to improve gross margins through procurement, installation, or pricing strategies.
• Create operational forecasts that translate activity-based drivers into financial projections.

• Own end-to-end planning and execution of major product development programs, from concept through production and deployment
• Define program schedules, milestones, and critical paths across hardware, software, and manufacturing tracks
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by running standups, sprint planning, and milestone reviews with engineering and ops teams

• Provide End-User Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for IT issues across the organization. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity problems with a focus on rapid resolution and excellent user experience.
• Manage Device & Identity Infrastructure: Administer our MDM platform (JumpCloud), ensuring all devices are properly enrolled, configured, and secured. Manage user provisioning, access controls, and off-boarding workflows.
• Implement Single Sign-On (SSO): Lead the rollout and ongoing management of SSO integrations across our SaaS tooling, improving security posture and simplifying access for the team.
• Support Security Policy Implementation: Partner with security leadership to develop and enforce IT security policies. Help maintain compliance with frameworks like NIST 800-171.

• Prepare proposals for emerging solicitations to USG, to include SBIR/OTAs, and commercial opportunities.
• Convert technical documentation (sensor specs, cloud architecture, deployment logistics) into clear, persuasive proposals.
• Work directly with growth, engineering, and operations to collect content and shape solution narratives.
• Manage proposal timelines, content development, compliance checks, and submission logistics.
• Build and maintain a reusable proposal content library, boilerplate language, and past-performance summaries (as company history grows).
