Business Development Director

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify, Qualify, Shape, Negotiate and Close new business opportunities
- Partner with engineering and program management teams to grow existing accounts
- Support the optimization of sales processes
- Deliver high-quality outcomes to government and commercial partners
- Spearhead proposals, including RFIs, RFPs, white papers, and unsolicited concept papers
- Maintain situational awareness of acquisition pathways and upcoming solicitations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5-10 years of Business Development experience
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Demonstrated knowledge of maritime customers
- Experience building or scaling a new business development function
- Comfort with selling complex technical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Prior military or government national security experience viewed favorably
- MBA viewed favorably
- Active security clearance
