Report to the CEO and lead strategic U.S. research program in quantum computing.
Manage R&D activities combining integrated photonics, electronics, algorithms, and software to deliver project milestones.
Lead program governance: objectives, timelines, budgets, KPIs, milestones, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
Coordinate reporting, documentation, and communication with program officers, stakeholders, and internal leadership.
Develop and oversee detailed project plans, resource allocation, work breakdown structures, and critical path analyses.
Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, including export control, IP management, and security for U.S. defense research projects.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and building of interdisciplinary R&D teams; define roles and collaboration frameworks.
Drive transition from scientific ideation to prototyping, validation, and demonstrators; monitor technical roadmaps and scientific trends.
Act as primary interface with stakeholders and funding institutions; build strategic collaborations with universities, national labs, and industry.
Represent the company at conferences, workshops, and consortium meetings to enhance scientific visibility and credibility.
Requirements
Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in physics, quantum technologies, photonics, engineering, or a related field; combined with strong experience in program or project management.
Proven track record (10+ years) in managing complex, multi-stakeholder R&D programs, ideally within defense, aerospace, or advanced technologies.
Solid understanding of quantum information science and/or integrated photonics is highly desirable.
