About the role
- Guide and mentor electrical design staff to develop technical skills and project knowledge
- Partner with the Office Manager to assign staff to projects and manage workloads
- Ensure quality control through review of all electrical project deliverables
- Support staff growth with performance assessments and training initiatives
- Represent the firm as a subject matter expert in client meetings and project interviews
- Oversee the design of building electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, data/telecom, fire alarm systems)
- Perform lighting calculations, circuit design, and layout of electrical switchgear
- Ensure compliance with codes and standards, coordinating with regulatory authorities
- Lead system evaluations and feasibility studies to deliver optimal solutions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from concept to construction
- Monitor schedules and budgets to achieve project and financial goals
- Develop proposals and fee structures with management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for new services and contribute to growth initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry professionals
Requirements
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (accredited institution)
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in electrical design, project engineering, or project management
- Proficiency with electrical design software (Visual, Elum Tools, MS Office)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
