About the role
- Assemble and review comprehensive engineering design packages for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage).
- Lead technical design of physical and electrical substation systems.
- Prioritize engineering tasks and deliverables to ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in client meetings and site visits to collect or deliver design data.
- Perform calculations and review preliminary design of facilities including transmission-related facilities.
- Manage contracts, scopes of work, change orders, and project closeouts.
- Mentor less experienced team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Grow the renewable energy client base by leveraging industry relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) registration strongly preferred
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in distribution, substation, and/or transmission line engineering, with emphasis on substation design
- Prior consulting experience preferred
- Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
