About the role
- Ensure the project complies with environmental federal, state, and base regulations and standards
- Work closely with government agencies and organizations to obtain necessary permits and ensure adherence to environmental laws
- Conduct site assessments and inspections; document findings and provide written reports with observations, data collected, and photographs
- Interact with regulatory specialists, clients, design engineers, and contractors to coordinate environmental compliance
- Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets
- Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and federal laws and regulations and provide technical recommendations in writing
- Apply innovative technical principles, practices, and theories to resolve technical issues
- Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, design changes, project deliverables, submittals, and cost proposals to ensure compliance
- Provide technical support for design and construction submittals, field inspections, and construction activities
- Prepare various permit applications and assist with report writing
- Document all project communications and participate in client/user interviews to identify project needs and constraints
- Use computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Engineering college curriculum
- Minimum 10 years design experience
- Demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports and in briefing management personnel
- Knowledge of broad-based Engineering and Environmental principles
- Sound understanding of environmental technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to design and construction
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and verbally
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret contract documents
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Must be a US citizen
- Possess a passport and ability to travel up to 25%
- PE – U.S. Professional Engineering Registration
- Holds an active Q-clearance
- Candidates may be required to obtain and hold a Secret or Higher US Government Clearance
