About the role
- Lead and manage department teams including engineers and technicians; provide technical guidance and mentorship
- Foster a positive workplace culture, conduct performance appraisals, identify staffing needs, recruit and hire, ensure effective resource allocation
- Plan, organize, and direct department activities including project management, design, and construction oversight; serve as project manager on various projects
- Perform QC/QA as needed to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget
- Develop new client relationships and maintain strong relationships with existing clients; coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance
- Collaborate on budget development, implement cost control measures, improve productivity and efficiency, and ensure accurate financial reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Demonstrated success in managing large and/or complex Water Resources engineering projects
- Substantial experience managing wastewater, drinking water and/or storm water projects
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for design and analysis
- Demonstrated expertise in personnel management and leadership with a strong track record of guiding teams
- Strong client management capabilities with proven ability to develop and maintain new client relationships
- Valid Driver's License
- Exceptional organizational skills (preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (preferred)
- 15 years of experience in water resources engineering (preferred; open to fewer years)
