About the role

  • Review and sign off on deliverables including protocols, statistical analysis plans, technical reports, and slides; identify necessary deviations from templates to align content with objectives.
  • Contribute to short-term resourcing discussions and long-term strategic planning; develop and maintain processes required for effective operation (e.g., onboarding, training, templates).
  • Lead multiple projects ensuring overall quality; develop recommendations based on expected impact; communicate risks and opportunities; make final decisions and take accountability for outcomes; ensure timely delivery and financial performance across projects.
  • Provide final sign-off on update slides/minutes and actions for overall study; own relationships with clients and act as subject matter expert and advisor on client calls and correspondence; proactively manage client expectations and problem-solve.
  • Create development plans and act as a mentor for direct reports; support team communication, conflict resolution, morale, broader team development and recruitment strategy.
  • Provide methodological/subject matter input and sign off on proposals and presentation content; lead meetings related to new business and proactively identify new business opportunities aligned with broader strategy.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a subject related to health services research (e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health).
  • 10 to 12 years experience serving biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare clients, with a focus on health economics and outcomes research.
  • Track record of relevant publications demonstrating expertise in HEOR.
  • Sufficient understanding of methods to oversee systematic literature reviews (clinical, economic, and/or health-related quality of life) and indirect treatment comparisons (e.g., NMA, MAIC, STC).
  • Ability to clearly explain rationale, methods/results, and strategy for complex studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Robust understanding of strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and ability to propose tailored methodological applications/solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in R and BUGS/JAGS/Stan advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team.
  • Pays attention to detail and performs quality checks of own work and that of others.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Highly developed reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness and understanding of financial performance on projects.
  • Ability to line-manage and mentor direct and indirect reports and ensure positive staff wellbeing/team dynamic.
  • Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge.
  • May require travel domestically and/or internationally including overnight stays.
