About the role
- Provide general legal advice across SaaS and commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Draft, review, analyze and negotiate contracts for customers/sales, partnerships, NDAs, vendors, and other third-party engagements.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Leadership to close revenue-generating deals while balancing legal risk, privacy, and compliance.
- Support legal operations initiatives including contract lifecycle management and AI-enhanced workflows.
- Monitor and interpret new legislation and regulatory changes and communicate impacts to the business.
- Draft and maintain internal policies and guidelines on antitrust, data privacy, and IP.
- Act as a visible and collaborative ambassador for the legal team and take on special projects assigned by the General Counsel.
Requirements
- JD or LLB from an accredited institution; licensed to practice in Canada or the US.
- 1 - 5 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house, ideally with technology or SaaS companies.
- Strong contract negotiation and management skills, with a practical and commercial approach to problem-solving.
- Solid understanding of privacy laws (US and EU) and information security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
