About the role
- This position is a key member of Cars Commerce Legal team providing legal advice, counsel, and delivery of the legal product to all Cars Commerce business units.\n
- Hands-on role with ongoing interactions with key business leaders and external parties such as partners, clients and industry contacts.\n
- Much of the work is focused on e-commerce and intellectual property and technology licensing.\n
- Support the senior legal team members of a multitude of projects and assignments\n
- Provide substantive support on contract drafting, review and negotiation.\n
- Perform legal research and counsel relating to various ongoing and new business initiatives.\n
- Provide legal counsel and direction to stakeholders within the organization to aid in the decision-making process.\n
- Respond to and perform legal-related ad hoc requests, as needed.
Requirements
- Experience with risk management and compliance related issues.\n
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.\n
- Experience with legal issues arising in product development, US federal and state data security and privacy regulations and fintech preferred.\n
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work well independently and on a team.\n
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.\n
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.\n
- 2–3+ years of post-graduate legal experience.\n
- ASSET / PREFERENCE Experience with employment law.
