Serve as the first impression for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic by providing friendly, efficient services to clients arriving at the health center
Maintain front office and back office operations and assist providers with daily in-office procedures
Provide patient education via telephone and face-to-face on reproductive and sexual health issues
Maintain accurate and complete documentation including charts, logs, EHR data, and patient filing systems
Verify and interpret insurance coverage and benefits; communicate fee scale and pricing information
Assist clinicians with patient referrals and document scheduled appointments in patient charts
Provide telephone coverage for incoming calls and assist with appointment scheduling and information requests
Handle patient fee receipts, reconcile daily deposits, and report to Finance
Ensure patients complete necessary forms and obtain patient consents for services
Follow Health Center procedures for processing and provision of OTC and prescription medications and birth control supplies
Maintain adequate stock of supplies and help assure health center working order
Participate as laboratory testing personnel: collect/prepare specimens, maintain/check instruments, perform quality controls, order and result laboratory tests, draw blood, dispose of contaminated supplies, perform and interpret in-house tests, and meet competency/proficiency requirements
Work as a team member to meet or exceed center productivity and customer satisfaction goals
Requirements
Bilingual in Spanish with passing the Bilingual Proficiency Assessment required before hire
Passionate about providing high-quality and nonjudgemental reproductive health care
Believes in providing non-judgmental care to transgender & gender-diverse patients
Patient-first mindset and compassionate demeanor
Ability to perform blood draws and laboratory testing tasks (collect/prepare specimens, maintain/check instruments, perform QC, order and result tests)
Ability to perform and interpret in-house laboratory tests and participate in competency/proficiency requirements
Ability to dispose of contaminated supplies safely
Experience with maintaining accurate and complete documentation (charts, logs, EHR/computer data)
Ability to verify and interpret insurance coverage and patient benefits, including copay/coinsurance
Ability to reconcile patient fee receipts and report to Finance
Ability to ensure patients complete necessary forms and obtain consents
Familiarity with processing OTC and prescription medications and birth control supplies
Ability to maintain adequate stock of supplies and assist in center maintenance
Strong customer service and telephone skills for appointment scheduling and information
Willingness to remain on-site until patients are checked out, documentation completed, and center cleaned
Ability to work the specified clinic schedule (full-time, 35-39 hours/week; Tuesday-Saturday shifts with varying hours)
