About the role

  • Manages all functions related to training for non-licensed health center staff
  • Supervises and mentors a team of trainers who are committed to developing skill-based training for health center staff
  • Recommends and implements the professional development of Training Department staff including training design, clinical operations, and process improvement
  • Implements and communicates processes with operations and clinical leadership to provide feedback regarding non-licensed staff’s ability to perform job functions
  • Engages in all phases of the training development cycle to deliver skills-based content including in-person and virtual, with groups, and in one-on-one settings.
  • Collaborates with EHR teams to develop EHR and related clinical documentation system trainings
  • Maintains a cross-agency collaboration in the development of trainings, including attending meetings, participating in work groups, and supporting the implementation of changes across the system
  • Maintains close relationships and communication with health center managers, clinicians, clinical operations, clinical care leadership, and Equity & Organizational Culture teams
  • Engaged in providing direct patient care during the training and coaching process and is compliant with all health center policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates closely and effectively with Equity & Organizational Culture, and clinical services to provide an excellent on-boarding experience
  • Manages metrics to ensure training department is meeting relevant goals
  • Maintains working knowledge of relevant clinical services policies, protocols and procedures for center operations to process patients through their health care visits
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the database to track training including CALS for clinical and administrative staff
  • Assures the integrity of the health center training program by monitoring the fidelity of training programs and processes
  • Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies and standard practices in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs
  • Develops systems to assure the ongoing oversight of training, development, and compliance processes.
  • Supports the agency’s mission and all of the sexual and reproductive health services offered including family planning services, health screenings, testing and treatment of STI’s, birth control methods, gender affirming care, and abortion services
  • Leads and participates in special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency, organizational, analytical, leadership and interpersonal communication skills required. Willingness to function as a role model, health center team member, and trainer.
  • Must possess capacity to learn software programs required for role, access electronic communications, electronic health records, and utilize a variety of data management programs, Epic experience a plus.
  • Skilled in program planning, project management, curriculum development, instructional design, and training and facilitation. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation, tasks, processes, and workflow
  • Assumes ownership of assigned projects from concept to completion with limited oversight.
  • Experience working directly with Physicians, Advanced Practitioners, and non-licensed personnel
  • Data-related skills including gathering, managing, and interpreting in addition to analyzing and presenting data to support the decision-making processes both collaboratively and independently
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, technologies, regulatory matters, HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act), Meaningful Use, and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Administration)
  • Demonstrates an ability to effectively work across difference.
  • Aware of multiple group identities and their dynamics, and brings a high level of self-awareness, empathy, and humility to interpersonal interactions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role that health inequities play in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and institutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Windows based software, data management programs, spreadsheets and presentational software programs, EPIC experience a plus
  • Two or more years’ experience in delivery of training programs and developing content and/or curriculum
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience providing direct patient care
  • Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience
