About the role
- Research innovative styles/techniques to fulfill market needs or create market demand
- Analyze category sales and market trends and integrate findings into new collections
- Conceptualize, develop and present new product ideas aligned with seasonal themes
- Collaborate with the team to develop and innovate wallcovering collections
- Propose collections to address market needs or stimulate demand
- Strategically plan category recolors, subcategory quotas, and vendor diversification according to annual quotas
- Work with the Marketing team on seasonal launch strategy proposals
- Request strike-offs from suppliers that align with seasonal themes, color palettes, and trends
- Develop new product categories to diversify the product range (e.g., new materials)
- Create artwork repeats, pattern matches, and detracts as needed
- Confirm and document product specifications and work with the Quality Control Technician
- Give product presentations and train others on their category
- Maintain and cultivate vendor relationships; seek out, onboard, and source new vendors, mills, and materials
- Negotiate preliminary pricing, terms, and SLAs and vet potential new vendors and technologies with Supply Chain
- Ensure compliance with vendor agreements and quotas; finalize supplier agreements
- Schedule and participate in virtual and in-person vendor meetings; troubleshoot with suppliers and internal teams to maintain product quality
Requirements
- Bachelor of Fine Arts or related field
- Minimum of 5+year’s experience in design related field
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
- Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
- AVA Cadcam
- Microsoft Office Proficiency
- Painting & Drawing
- Ability to be onsite 3 days per week at our Fairfield, NJ location
