About the role

  • Lead Product Development projects by coordinating kickoff meetings, assigning responsibilities across departments, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Manage vendor and product improvements, changes, and special projects.
  • Communicate with construction personnel regarding vendor and product issues; collaborate with vendors to resolve disputes and field-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Review pricing for accuracy.
  • Identify and evaluate new contractors and vendors in the marketplace.
  • Organize, calculate, and track rebate payments and Energy Star certifications.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as needed, including:
  • - Annual contract and addendum updates.
  • - Purchasing-related changes in collaboration with Estimating.
  • - Field studies to verify subcontractor and vendor compliance.
  • - Competitive market studies.
  • - Preparation of memoranda on policy and material changes.
  • - Review of marketing materials such as Subdivision Feature Sheets and Homeowners Manuals.
  • - Participation in department-wide projects and general support activities.
  • - Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business or a Construction related field.
  • Preferred 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, operations or estimating.
  • Communicates effectively with vendors, internal employees, and customers (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of estimating and purchasing principles as well as residential construction practices and materials.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Effective negotiating skills.
  • Availability to travel as needed in Texas and Florida market.
  • Demonstrated computer skills to include experience with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Current, valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
