Review and comment on contractor/subcontractor agreements and architectural or engineering designs
Provide pre-proposal/bid support including site walks and proposal reviews
Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
Coordinate hand-off meetings with sales, design, and field teams
Prepare project status reports and recommend release of construction funds
Perform subcontractor negotiations and review subcontractor quotes for missing/incomplete scopes
Generate and monitor master schedule (e.g., Gantt charts) with superintendent and support schedule adherence
Prepare construction risk assessment reports and support site safety documentation
Collaborate with sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to meet customer needs
Secure required permits and ensure Parts/Warehouse orders and staging per BOM timelines
Maintain job management system tracking contracts, scopes, timelines, change orders, and backup documentation
Receive daily field reports and manage change order process with customers/contractors
Adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Business Administration, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Project Management or related field, or equivalent work experience in the fire life safety industry
3-5 years of project management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid state issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Must have the ability to obtain any and all licensing required within 90 days of hire
Possess strong mechanical / electrical and technical aptitude
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Strong presentation skills and proficiency speaking to large audiences
Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
Proper business English usage; excellent verbal and written communication
