About the role
- Lead and develop a team of in-home sales consultants to grow market share and achieve sales goals
- Devote over 50% of workweek in the field coaching and observing sales consultants’ selling skills
- Coach and motivate team on consultative selling techniques using the Pella Replacement Sales Process
- Drive team profitability by building value, managing rebates, and controlling error-rates
- Recruit, select, onboard, and retain high performing sales consultants with HR support
- Partner with sales consultants to represent Pella at customer homes, professional group events and home shows
- Assign opportunities based on sales consultant skill level and project difficulty
- Foster cooperative team environment to share best practices and competitive market information
- Promote independent decision making and strive for first-time resolution on customer issues
- Respond to escalated customer concerns with involvement of sales consultants
- Collaborate with Service/Operations to ensure complete and successful installations
- Manage, develop and coach Showroom/Inside Sales team members to ensure consistent product presentation and exceptional customer service
- Interact with Accounts Receivable to address potential billing/payment issues
- Assist Sales GM with marketing tactics, events, annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Develop presentations to communicate performance to Pella audiences
- Work variable non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, to support consultants and customers
- Leverage customer database tools to improve sales consultants’ management of customer interactions
- Protect contribution margin goals and manage rebates to ensure profitability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years related experience and/or training (or equivalent)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in an environment of constant interruptions and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to read and analyze documents related to contracts and work documents
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and the general public
- Must present a clean and neat physical appearance and strictly abide by company dress code
- Ability to solve practical and arithmetic problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Valid motor vehicle record that complies with company requirements
- Ability to drive an automobile regularly and travel locally (25%-50% travel)
- Ability to lift/move regularly up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices, and ability to learn internal software programs and applications
- Strong coaching, motivating and consultative selling skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, work ethic, motivation and persuasion abilities
