About the role

  • Provide field access support services and education to Healthcare Professionals to maximize patient access to Company products
  • Communicate with Specialty Pharmacies, Closed Door Pharmacies, and HUB partner to support Neurocrine Biosciences marketed products
  • Build and maintain integrity of pharmacy distribution network via vetting activities
  • Work cross-functionally with field sales, network pharmacies, market access, commercial analytics and operations
  • Provide training and education to HCPs on payer coverage policies, appeals processes, and patient financial assistance programs
  • Introduce technology options for electronic Patient Access submission and support PA, LMN, appeals, step edits, and formulary exception requests
  • Monitor processes, propose workflow strategies and share best practices on specialty distribution efficiency
  • Present payer coverage insights at internal reviews and sales meetings
  • Conduct Patient Access workshops and assist with new hire training
  • Support diversity, inclusion, and workplace belonging initiatives

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in related field and 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, with 2+ years of experience with specialty pharmacy/market access
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred and 4+ years of related experience OR PharmD or PhD and 2+ years of related experience
  • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers and government payers and their impact on product access
  • Excellent working knowledge of patient support programs, including reimbursement support, financial assistance adherence programs, etc.
  • Strong understanding of prescription adjudication process
  • Ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes
  • Possesses good understanding of current issues within the marketplace, pharmaceutical industry, and national health care system
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 60%
  • Knowledge of best practices in the functional discipline and familiarity with the broader underlying concepts of related business disciplines
  • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams
