About the role
- Structure, draft, negotiate, and close secured real estate finance transactions (including term, construction, mezzanine, and co-lender loans) for various commercial real estate asset types (including multi-family, office, retail, industrial, data center, and more)
- Oversee closing managers, outside counsel, and third-party originators
- Mitigate transactional risks and resolve closing hurdles with practical solutions
- Implement and expand upon technology-based efficiency solutions, including document automation and document management systems
- Stay current on legal developments to update forms and processes
- Provide legal counsel and technical guidance to internal investment team
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- 8+ years’ experience negotiating and closing complex commercial real estate loans, preferably lender-side work
- Strong legal writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs
