• Own: Lead the technical customer relationship, ensuring an exceptional end-to-end customer experience alongside Business Development and Account Management.
• Translate: Engage directly with customers to understand business challenges and convert them into clear technical requirements and quantum-ready use cases.
• Develop: Design, evaluate and implement quantum (and hybrid classical) algorithms and software components to solve real-world customer problems.
• Prototype: Build proof-of-concept solutions independently and with OQC Software Engineers, managing technical escalations and removing blockers.
• Benchmark: Define meaningful evaluation metrics and benchmark quantum approaches against classical baselines to demonstrate near- and long-term value.
• Influence: Represent OQC in workshops and industry events while feeding back market insights, emerging algorithms, and trends to shape product strategy.

Solution Architect

Mechanical Engineer

• Assess current equipment capabilities and compile the definitive suite of required test stands and beds for the OQC roadmap.
• Create full machine schematics and detailed equipment designs using 3D CAD, from initial concept to final detail.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement, manufacture, and assembly of test rigs, ensuring they meet rigorous internal specifications.
• Partner with R&D teams to test and validate new equipment, ensuring absolute compliance with design specifications.
• Maintain and evolve the existing fleet, implementing iterative design improvements to keep pace with our rapid innovation cycles.
• Take full Project Management responsibility—owning the scope, timeline, and budget for our test equipment infrastructure.

Senior Equipment Design Engineer – Test Beds, Test Stands

Full-stack Engineer

• Developing low-level instrumentation, assembly, and driver software in Python, C, and C++
• Designing software solutions and proposing technical approaches, including trade-offs around performance, complexity, cost, and maintainability
• Debugging complex issues across development and production environments, taking ownership through to resolution
• Optimising driver and embedded code using compiler outputs and performance analysis techniques
• Collaborating with hardware, firmware, and higher-level software teams to manage interactions across the stack
• Reviewing and testing code to ensure production-ready quality, performance, and security
