About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement and maintain secure network infrastructure across cloud, lab and office environments.
Deliver network upgrades, new deployments and infrastructure improvements in collaboration with DevOps and project teams.
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions, dynamic documentation and network architecture standards.
Implement network monitoring, performance optimisation and incident response to ensure highly available services.
Strengthen network security through access controls, encryption, security reviews and collaboration with IT teams.
Partner with internal stakeholders to design networking solutions that support research, engineering and product delivery.
Mentor colleagues, share technical expertise and contribute to the continuous improvement of networking practices across OQC.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in a Network Engineering role supporting enterprise or production environments.
Hands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls, routers and switches.
Experience provisioning and supporting cloud networking across Azure, AWS or GCP.
Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, software-defined networking, TCP/IP, DNS and network monitoring tools.
Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and version control systems such as Git.
Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
CCNA, JNCIA or equivalent networking qualification.
A collaborative approach with excellent problem-solving, adaptability and a passion for continuous improvement.
Willingness to travel to UK and international OQC locations when required.
