About the role
- Triage and evaluate escalations from investigators and law enforcement involving imminent threats of physical harm and other emergencies, and document and communicate results to stakeholders
- Review legal process from law enforcement agencies for information and respond in strict accordance with applicable law, terms of service, privacy policy, and procedures; determine when to escalate non-standard requests
- Operate independently and urgently in sensitive cases
- Review or be exposed to sensitive or offensive content
- Work cross-functionally with Legal, Product Policy, and Intel & Investigations to define, execute, and scale processes and programs for imminent threat referrals, legal process responses, and emergency disclosure requests
- Drive time-sensitive cases and initiatives to build legal solutions that scale across OpenAI
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience triaging and evaluating investigations involving online threats and/or law enforcement response functions at fast-paced technology companies or technology-focused law firms
- Experience dealing with sensitive and offensive content and interacting with law enforcement
- Ability to perform in an information sensitive environment and manage work activities within strict privacy and security protocols
- Strong technical proficiency and ability to work effectively across multiple applications and databases, maintaining high levels of data accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to work across global time zones, including occasional off-hours or weekend on-call coverage
- Strong sense of ownership, inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology, and able to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, concise messages
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to operate independently and urgently in sensitive cases
