About the role
- Report directly to the CFO and work closely with executives across Sales, Engineering, HR, and Product
- Provide accurate and timely counsel on commercial agreements, privacy, labor law, corporate governance, and other legal topics
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties including external counsel, vendors, and potential customers
- Draft and finalize agreements and legal documents (employment agreements and amendments, ESOP grant letters, customer agreements, NDAs, etc.)
- Apply risk management techniques and provide proactive legal advice
- Manage international legal matters with external legal firms for subsidiaries
- Manage and mentor a legal team of 1–2 in-house counsels
- Provide clarification on legal language and specifications across the organization
- Create processes and procedures to support a rapidly growing global business
- Support ScyllaDB’s business operations in Israel, India, the US, and Europe
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws degree from a leading university and qualified lawyer in Israel - Must
- 10+ years of commercial and corporate experience from a leading Israeli law firm with high-tech expertise - Must
- At least 3 years in a General Counsel or Deputy GC role at a high-growth technology company - Must
- Fluent in English and Hebrew (mother language level) - Must
- Prior experience working with large multinational customers and partners
- Strong knowledge of SaaS, open-source licensing, and commercial law
- Excellent and extensive drafting and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Solid experience reviewing, commenting on, and advising on commercial contracts
- Ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
- Exceptionally strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Efficient and creative problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity and complexity
- Able to take ownership of fast-paced projects with shifting priorities
- Ability to work flexible hours and days
- Ability to work effectively remotely
- Strong work ethics and ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow through on numerous projects simultaneously
