About the role
- Support the design, integration, test, and production of laser/electro-optical, network and communication systems
- Implement and manage system requirements
- Revise and manage specification/interface definition documents and expedite documents through signature approval process
- Provide data to risk management and trade study processes (identify potential risks)
- Support system design, data analyses, interface verification, testing, failure/anomaly resolution and mission operations
- Support testing and/or evaluation/validation of system components, analytical models, or actual system implementations
- Attend and prepare materials for System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review
- Support trade studies, system sensitivity studies, design optimization, system performance assessments, mission analysis, timelines and concept of operations development
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment supporting an Integrated Product Team
- Report to Northrop Grumman Precision Targeting and Protection facility in Apopka, FL
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and maintain this level of clearance for continued employment
- Travel: Yes, 25% of the Time
- Principal: BS in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 5 years related experience OR Master's in CS/STEM and 3 years related experience OR PhD and 1 year related experience
- Sr. Principal: BS in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 8 years related experience OR Master's in CS/STEM and 6 years related experience OR PhD and 4 years related experience
- 2 years experience with DOORS requirements management tool
- 2 years process and Procedure writing experience
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Preferred: Active Secret clearance
- Preferred: Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools (eg, Cameo)
- Preferred: Understanding of Statement of Work and other contractual documents
- Preferred: Experience writing statements of work and estimating project scope
- Preferred: Experience performing failure analysis and driving implementation of corrective actions
- Preferred: Ability to scope and generate product test plans, lead tests and generate comprehensive test reports
- Preferred: Problem-solving skills, good organization skills, effective technical communication and presentation skills
