About the role
- Assist in building and organizing compliance documentation (e.g., regulatory requirements library, audit prep materials, risk registers).
- Support audit readiness by collecting, organizing, and indexing evidence.
- Contribute to vulnerability management workflows by analyzing scan outputs, categorizing issues, and tracking remediation.
- Research emerging attack vectors and assist in drafting plain-language summaries for leadership.
- Use SQL and Python to support compliance testing, including pulling population samples and formatting data.
- Help with compliance testing projects, such as validating email notices, disclosures, or credit policy checks.
- Draft playbooks, process maps, or how-to guides to document internal compliance/security workflows.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business, Law, or related field.
- Strong interest in regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, risk management, or data-driven problem solving.
- Familiarity with Python and/or SQL preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn.
- Additional Pluses:
- Previous internship or coursework in compliance, audit, or security.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, PCI, GLBA, FCRA).
- Knowledge of vulnerability management or penetration testing basics.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Periscope, Tableau, Power BI).
- Interest in fintech or startup environments.
