About the role

  • Assist with all patient care services including case management, extensive chart reviews, utilization of services reviews and discharge planning.
  • Ensure compliance with patient care quality standards for wound care and hyperbaric patients.
  • Support clinical training initiatives for new and existing staff, including hands-on and virtual training.
  • Report to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Participate in chart review process to ensure patients qualify for treatment prior to appointment; communicate charting revisions to staff.
  • Partner with HR & Training on new hire training and create training materials/courses and educational aids.
  • Provide training remotely or in-person; travel to wound centers across the U.S. to support ongoing clinical education, coach and develop nursing staff, and cover clinical shifts if required.
  • Support new clinic openings (administrative, virtual and/or hands-on).
  • Advise on patient scheduling, chart reviews, physician communication, and patient evaluations for HBO qualification.
  • Stay up to date on standards of care related to wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy and educate staff.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle Department on insurance verifications and authorizations.
  • Create and update clinical procedures and train on procedures as required.
  • Maintain coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols.
  • Maintain efficient and effective clinical operations and adhere to company, hospital, and accrediting body clinical, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) from an accredited school or college of nursing.
  • Current state licensure; no restrictions to obtain RN license in additional states.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from approved agency.
  • 2+ years wound care experience required.
  • 2+ years clinical training experience required.
  • Deep understanding of charting, billing and insurance authorizations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related systems.
  • Proficient in a minimum of one EMR system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to treat others with compassion and patience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
