About the role
- Oversee the daily operations of a multifamily residential property portfolio.
- Ensure buildings are maintained to a high standard, including coordinating maintenance, repairs, and vendor contracts.
- Lead and mentor on-site staff, including leasing agents, administrators, and maintenance teams.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets, including rent collection, expense control, and financial reporting.
- Maximize occupancy and retention through proactive tenant engagement and effective leasing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), building codes, and health & safety regulations.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on property performance to ownership/leadership.
- Resolve tenant issues and disputes in a professional and timely manner.
- Implement property improvement initiatives to enhance tenant satisfaction and asset value.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing multifamily residential properties , preferably in Toronto or the GTA.
- Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and Ontario housing regulations.
- Proven ability to manage operating budgets and interpret financial reports.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience handling tenant relations and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar).
- Postsecondary education in Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
