About the role
- Lead and coach the global Stock Operations team to meet evolving needs
- Oversee administration of the Netflix Stock Option Program (SOP): grants, exercises, payroll reporting/withholding, and stock settlements
- Oversee administration of Netflix’s NEO equity compensation plans, including full lifecycles of RSU and PSU awards
- Ensure compliance with equity-related regulatory requirements (tax withholding and reporting, data privacy, securities and labor law) across Netflix entities worldwide
- Understand, maintain documentation, and operationalize tax and reporting requirements related to non-US stock grants and exercises including international and domestic transfers, short-term assignments, business travelers, and remote workers
- Manage and design workflows and systems to maximize efficiencies in stock operations, ensure data integrity, and streamline reporting
- Own employee education program around equity programs, including annual enrollment and new hire onboarding
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Employment Tax, Payroll, Finance & Accounting, Compensation, Global Mobility, Talent Analytics, Employee Technology, Legal, Treasury, Employee Services)
- Oversee the 10b5-1 Trading Program(s) and coordinate participants, brokers, and Legal to ensure execution and compliance
- Serve as primary point of contact for Section 16 officers and directors to support SEC reporting and Forms 3, 4, and 5
- Responsible for SOX controls, narrative, and Bi-annual walkthroughs to ensure accurate and timely processing of equity awards
- Own 3rd party advisor/vendor relationships, including law firms and brokers
- Provide subject matter expertise input to Netflix's continued evolution of equity programs
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in global equity administration with a variety of equity program types
- Proven team leadership experience
- Working understanding of US GAAP accounting principles
- Working understanding of IRC section 409A
- Working understanding of equity valuation models
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international equity legal and tax compliance and reporting requirements
- Experience with tax/reporting requirements related to non-US stock grants and exercises, international/domestic transfers, short-term assignments, business travelers, and remote workers
- Experience with Workday, Etrade, and Equity Edge Online
- Certified Equity Professional accreditation preferred
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and navigate areas of uncertainty
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage people and processes
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to build strong relationships up to C-suite and Board of Directors
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and challenge technical decisions and architecture
