About the role
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, DPAs, and partner or reseller contracts
- Partner closely with sales and revenue teams to balance legal risk with business outcomes during customer negotiations
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor across teams including product, security, and leadership
- Help establish scalable legal processes, policies, and best practices for contracting and commercial operations
- Design and maintain frameworks for managing legal, security, and regulatory considerations in enterprise customer agreements
- Contribute to building the legal function as the company grows, taking on new areas of responsibility as needed
Requirements
- Qualified attorney in California or New York (or eligible to register as in-house counsel)
- 7+ years of legal experience, including time at a leading law firm and/or relevant in-house role
- Deep experience drafting and negotiating high-volume commercial agreements, particularly in SaaS environments
- Strong familiarity with privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, or similar standards
- Comfort operating in cross-functional environments and partnering closely with sales, finance, and product teams
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders
- High ownership mindset and comfort working in fast-moving startup environments
