About the role

  • Xumo seeks an experienced and highly motivated Executive Director of Product Management, Xumo Play to join our FAST Product & Technology team. Drive strategy, development, and optimization of Xumo’s consumer-facing FAST app experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Project Management, QA, Advertising sales, Content Operations, Ad Operations, Editorial and Marketing. Manage product lifecycle for live channels, on-demand, UI, search, recommendations, personalization. Lead, mentor, and grow product management team; foster innovation and accountability. Improve UI/UX across all devices for navigation, discoverability, personalization. Lead support team for Xumo Play; partner with Care team and incorporate feedback. Use analytics, user feedback, and benchmarks to inform product decisions and optimize journeys. Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends in streaming, AVOD, FAST. Partner with engineering, content, marketing, advertising, sales for product initiatives and revenue. Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and accessibility; ensure captions and audio descriptions support. Implement product development, testing, release cycles, and Xumo Agile methodologies. Office based in Irvine, CA or Philadelphia, PA - 4 days in office/1 day remote.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles within the streaming media, AVOD/FAST, or digital media industries. Proven success launching and scaling consumer-facing streaming products with a strong understanding of UI/UX principles. Demonstrated expertise in managing cross-functional teams including product, design, personalization, and customer care. Deep knowledge of ad-supported streaming ecosystems, including programmatic advertising, targeting, and monetization strategies (including with SSAI). Capability to lead both Front End (user-facing) and Back End (Server/API development) features and functionality. Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices for compliant data handling. Strong analytic skills, with experience analyzing internal metrics such as engagement, retention, ad performance, and revenue. Proven ability to foster innovative cultures that promote new feature development and user engagement strategies. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with industry platforms like Pluto TV, Tubi, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and other leading streaming providers. Must be able to present detailed strategies and roadmaps and provide executive leadership with the information they need to know. Preferred: Experience working with or leading a FAST/Free Ad-supported streaming platform or other related streaming media service. Preferred: Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI/ML for personalization. Preferred: Proven track record of negotiation and partnership development in a media environment (ie with external vendor/contractor relationships or with platform distribution partners). Preferred: Experience navigating regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and ADA compliance in digital media environments. Preferred: Experience working with international markets and managing localization and regional content requirements. Preferred: Familiarity with Content Management and/or Asset Management Systems Preferred: Proficiency with Atlassian tool suite or similar product management tools.
